My phrases

My phrases is your personal list of expressions inside the Phrases section. It fills itself: everything you drill in a session lands there automatically, and you can add any phrase by hand from a situation or from the phrase’s own page.

How a phrase gets into the list

  • You drilled it in a session — it is added on its own, with nothing extra to do.
  • You added it by hand — from a situation page or from the phrase’s own page.

The same phrase never doubles up: if it is already on the list, adding it simply refreshes it.

How this differs from All phrases

All phrases is the shared catalogue — everything there is to learn. My phrases is your slice of it: only what you have worked on or picked out yourself. The catalogue is the same for everyone; the list belongs to you.

Order and filter

Whatever was updated last sits at the top. The bump button on a phrase page sends it back to the front, which helps when you want something kept in sight. The filter above narrows the list to a single theme — Basics apart from situations.

The phrase page

A phrase page gathers everything about it: how it sounds, how it reads, what it means, the breakdown into meaningful chunks, how many drills it has had, the date of the last one and the mastered mark once it has been earned.

From there the phrase can be drilled on its own — a session of one, following the same route as in a full session. That drill counts exactly like any other.

What removing a phrase does

Removal takes the phrase out of your list only. It stays in the shared catalogue, and your progress on it survives — the drills and the mastered mark remain.

Translations and interface language

The translation comes from the shared phrase base in your interface language — the same source All phrases and Situations show. Switching the language switches the translation in your list too; a phrase carries no edit of your own.

What to do if…

There are phrases in the list I never added

A drilled phrase joins the list automatically — that is how a session fills the collection. Anything you do not want can be removed from its page.

I removed a phrase and it is back

It came up in a session again: reviews rely on your progress rather than the list, so a drill puts it back. To stop it coming up, master it.

The list is empty

It fills as you practise. Run a session on the Review tab, or add the phrases you like by hand — from a situation or from a phrase page.
