Questions about a text

Questions help you check whether you understood a text. Its owner can write questions or generate them with Plus. You can answer existing questions on either plan: choose an option or write an answer in Chinese and get feedback.

Creating questions

In Check your understanding, the owner chooses the number of questions and whether to include answer options. A set can contain up to five questions. Plus can generate them; writing your own questions is also available on Basic.

You can add your own questions while the set has room. Answers to unchanged questions are kept. Editing a question can reset its answers; read the warning before saving.

Answering

Choose an option or write in your own words. Free-answer feedback checks the meaning and explains errors. Show in text helps you find the passage the question refers to. Use Edit answer to revise your answer; the number of edits is limited.

In a shared text

Participants answer the owner's questions but do not change the set. Other answers are visible according to the collaboration settings. Usually, you can see another participant's answer after submitting your own answer to that question.

What to do if…

I cannot find the generate action

Only the text owner can create the set. Participants do not have this action; generation requires Plus for the owner. Writing your own questions is available on either plan.

I cannot add another question

Check whether the set is full: generated and your own questions share the same limit. If there is room, make sure you are the author of the text.
