Rule structure

们 (men) attaches to personal pronouns (我们 (wǒ mén), 你们 (nǐ mén), 他们 (tā mén)) and to nouns for people (老师们 (lǎo shī mén), 同学们 (tóng xué mén)) to indicate a group. With nouns, 们 (mén) does not combine with a number and a measure word: say 三个老师 (sān gè lǎo shī), not 三个老师们 (sān gè lǎo shī mén). 们 (mén) is generally not used with inanimate objects.
