Rule structure

马上 (mǎshàng) is a time adverb placed before a verb to show that an action will happen very soon, meaning "immediately, right away". It differs from 一会儿 (yī huì ér) (yíhuìr): 一会儿 (yī huì ér) refers to a short interval or near future, while 马上 (mǎshàng) stresses immediacy. With a subject, 马上 (mǎshàng) normally comes after the subject and before the verb.
