Rule structure

看 (kàn) or 瞧 (qiáo) draws attention to someone’s intense state: “look how…”. 把 (bǎ) is followed by the person, the state, and an expression of extent introduced by 得 (de). In a short emotional exclamation, the extent can be left unstated; the spelling 的 (de) also occurs: 看把你急的 (Kàn bǎ nǐ jí de), “Look how worked up you are!”. This does not replace 得 (dé) before an explicit expression of extent.

Examples

你看把妈妈累得都不想说话了。

Nǐ kàn bǎ māma lèi de dōu bù xiǎng shuōhuà le.
