Ask Tomyo and character breakdown in writing

The assistant shows how to say a phrase in Chinese, and writing practice shows what a character is made of.

Ask Tomyo

  • Write in English and get the phrase in Chinese. Write in Chinese and get a word-by-word breakdown.
  • The assistant checks a sentence you wrote yourself and shows how to say it correctly.
  • Translate text, ask how to write a phrase, study the word-by-word breakdown and add words to your vocabulary.
  • Open the assistant from the yarn ball on the home screen, or from the orb over the chat in Replies.

Writing

  • Character breakdown: which parts a character is made of and how many strokes it has.
  • A character you forgot comes back with its outline, so it’s easier to recall.

Study streak

  • Your streak badge grows with it: 🔥, ⚡, 💎 and 👑. Tap it to see how many days are left to the next one.

Vocabulary

  • On a word page you can add the word to your vocabulary or move it up.

Fixes

  • After signing in, the app no longer shows the welcome screens again.
