Rule structure

特 (tè) is conversational “very”, as in 特好 (tè hǎo). 异常 (yìcháng) emphasizes an unusually high degree and is more typical of writing, while 较为 (jiàowéi) is formal “relatively, quite”. The latter two commonly occur with disyllabic words: 异常安静 (yì cháng ān jìng) (yìcháng ānjìng), “unusually quiet”, and 较为复杂 (jiàowéi fùzá), “relatively complex”. These are typical combinations, not a ban on other forms.

Examples

这项工作较为复杂。

Zhè xiàng gōngzuò jiàowéi fùzá.
