Rule structure
好多 (hǎoduō) is conversational and means “a lot” or “loads,” an unspecified large quantity. Before a noun, it usually appears without 的 (de), especially in conversation: 好多人 (hǎoduō rén), 好多东西 (hǎoduō dōngxi); forms with 的 (de) also occur. A measure word, when needed, follows 好多 (hǎo duō): 好多本书 (hǎoduō běn shū). This differs from 多 (duō) meaning “more than” after a number.
