Rule structure

执意 (zhíyì) is a manner adverb meaning "stubbornly, insistently" — about someone's firm intention, often against persuasion or advice. It normally precedes a verb phrase and has a slightly formal-neutral register. Do not confuse it with 故意 (gùyì) "on purpose, deliberately": 执意 (zhí yì) stresses insistence, not intent.
