How to delete your account

If you have access to the Tomyo Chinese app, open your profile settings and choose the account deletion action. The app will ask you to confirm before deletion.

If you have already uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or prefer to submit a request through the website, contact us from the email address registered to your account or create a support request.

Identity confirmation

We do not delete accounts solely based on a public request containing an arbitrary email address. To protect users from unauthorized deletion, we may ask you to confirm access to the registered email address or complete additional verification steps.

Data we delete

When your Tomyo Chinese account is deleted, we delete or detach from the account:

  • your user account and profile;
  • learning progress, study history, review history, and statistics;
  • custom vocabulary, collections, tags, notes, and settings;
  • dialogues, exercises, and other learning materials created through the service;
  • support files and requests linked to the account when they are no longer needed to process the request.

Data we may retain

Some records may be retained in anonymized or limited form where needed for security, abuse prevention, diagnostics, payment accounting, legal compliance, or processing the deletion request itself.

This data is not used to continue your user profile and is retained only for as long as needed for those purposes.

Processing time

Deletion through the app is usually completed immediately. Email and support requests are processed within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days after identity confirmation.
