Rule structure

To express possession, use [Subject + (yǒu) + Object]. it can be translated as "to have," "to possess," or "to own." Negation with the verb (yǒu) is formed in a special way. It can't be combined with the negative particle (bù), but it can be combined with the negative particle (méi): 没有 (méiyǒu).
