Days of the week are formed according to the pattern 星期 (xīng qī) (xīngqī) + Number (from 1 to 6), where 1 corresponds to Monday, 2 to Tuesday, and so on. Sunday is the exception: 星期天 (xīng qī tiān) (xīngqī tiān) or 星期日 (xīng qī rì) (xīngqī rì).
